Villeneuve brutally tears apart Ocon’s F1 career despite strong Baku result

Former F1 driver Jacques Villeneuve has voiced strong criticism of Esteban Ocon and his Formula 1 career following the Frenchman's admission that he is a 'free agent' ahead of next season. Ocon, who currently considers himself a free agent for the 2026 season, revealed that discussions with other teams are taking place, though he did not provide specific details.

The Haas driver stated that some factors surrounding his future are beyond his control, but he intends to continue pushing until the end of the season before deciding his next move.

Villeneuve, speaking at the Baku Grand Prix, dismissed Ocon's performance at the Azerbaijan race as merely one aspect of the equation when it comes to Haas team principal Ayao Komatsu's decision on his future. He emphasized the importance of the team dynamics and the potential availability of other drivers.
