UL Solutions launches liquid cooling certification program

UL Solutions, a company specializing in safety and performance evaluations, has launched a new certification program for liquid cooling subassemblies. These components are crucial for AI data centers and high-density computing systems. The certification program, which evaluates products using UL 4501, focuses on safety, performance, leak integrity, and interoperability.

Products eligible for certification include cold plates, manifolds, and quick disconnects. Global data center electricity use is projected to nearly double by 2030, with cooling systems consuming up to 40% of the energy. Jennifer Scanlon, president and CEO of UL Solutions, emphasized that the certification helps manufacturers demonstrate product performance and safety and provides data center operators with increased confidence during integration. UL Solutions offers testing, inspection, and certification services to customers worldwide.
