UAE programme equips families to support neurodivergent children

Dubai, UAE - A comprehensive six-session initiative, "Understanding and Supporting Neurodivergence," has equipped hundreds of parents and caregivers across the UAE with practical training to better comprehend and support neurodivergent children and People of Determination. Organized by Al Jalila Foundation in collaboration with Sage Clinics under the Ta'Alouf programme, the program welcomed participants from 50 nationalities.

The sessions, led by child development specialists, focused on enhancing understanding of neurodiversity, providing approaches to managing behavior, and strategies to strengthen social and communication skills. Nada Alhajeri, Manager of Community Engagement at Al Jalila Foundation, highlighted that this support empowers families to better foster their children's development and wellbeing.

She emphasized the significance of the program in response to families' needs, thanks to the partnership with Sage Clinics, which aims to extend the initiative to more families throughout the UAE.

Dr Mahmoud Al Ali, Managing Partner at Sage Clinics, added that subtle changes in communication styles and responses to individual needs can create a significant impact on children's growth and development. Both Al Jalila Foundation and Sage Clinics expressed their commitment to expanding the programme, ensuring it reaches more families across the UAE, offering practical, clinically informed strategies for parents, educators, and caregivers to apply in daily life.
