UAE President’s surprise arrival makes Etihad Rail Dubai opening twice as special: Sheikh Hamdan

Dubai's first Etihad Rail station, Al Yalayis, has been strategically positioned to serve the city's growing southern communities. Located near the Jumeirah Golf Estates Dubai Metro Station, this station is part of a long-term urban development plan that anticipates Dubai's expansion over the next decade. Etihad Rail Executive Director of Commercial Adhraa Almansoori explained that the company designs its stations to support the UAE's future growth, rather than simply responding to current travel patterns.

She highlighted the importance of strategic planning, considering how cities will evolve and how railway infrastructure can be part of the future transport network. The station's location near Jumeirah Golf Estates and its direct connection to the Dubai Metro Red Line through a pedestrian bridge make it a key hub for connecting residential communities, employment centers, and public transport services.

Almansoori emphasized that the station is not just a response to today's needs but is part of a broader vision for infrastructure that aims to provide a car-free travel experience, integrating seamlessly with other modes of transport.
