Tinubu, Otedola meet at private dinner in France

President Bola Tinubu held a private dinner with billionaire businessman Femi Otedola in Paris, France, as the Nigerian leader continued his extended stay in Europe. Otedola shared details of the meeting on social media, posting a picture of the two men smiling and expressing his support for Tinubu’s economic policies. He highlighted the administration’s reforms, noting progress such as the inclusion of top Nigerian companies in the FTSE Russell Frontier 50 Index, a performing Nigerian Exchange, increased foreign direct investment, and renewed economic confidence.

Otedola also pointed to a stable foreign exchange market and strong foreign reserves at about $55 billion. He expressed pride in Tinubu, calling him "Mr. President." Tinubu's prolonged absence from Nigeria and the UN General Assembly in New York has drawn criticism from opposition groups, though the Presidency maintains that his absence does not diminish Nigeria's diplomatic standing.
