Taiwan stocks lower at close of trade; Taiwan Weighted down 0.66%

Taiwan stocks experienced a decline at the close of trade on Tuesday, as losses were observed in multiple sectors, particularly Transport, Communication, and Internet. The Taiwan Weighted Index fell by 0.66%. Among the top gainers of the day were Paragon Technologies Co Ltd, Paragon Technologies Co Ltd (TW:3518), which rose by 10.00% or 3.40 points to trade at 37.40 at the close, followed by Taiwan Asia Semiconductor Corp and Andes Technology Corp, each gaining 9.99% and 9.96% respectively.

On the flip side, Acer Gaming Inc (TW:6908) and Apogee Optocom Co Ltd, Polaris Group witnessed the steepest declines, falling by 9.83%, 9.00% and 8.90% respectively, with Acer Gaming Inc hitting an all-time low of 27.05. The number of falling shares outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 605 to 390, while 125 stocks ended unchanged.

Oil prices saw an uptick, with November crude oil rising by 1.63% to $94.11 a barrel, December Brent oil up by 1.90% to $99.69, and December Gold Futures contract increasing by 0.04% to $4,170.22. The US Dollar Index Futures also saw a 0.12% rise at 101.05.
