SK hynix to provide up to 50% of R&D costs upfront for partner firms

SK hynix Inc. has unveiled an expanded support program for its partner companies, pledging to cover up to 50 percent of their research and development (R&D) expenses upfront. This initiative was unveiled at an event led by SK hynix CEO Kwak Noh-jung, with participation from key executives and representatives from approximately 100 partner firms.

During the technology development phase, SK hynix will offer upfront funding of up to half of the initial R&D costs, regardless of whether a project culminates in a successful technology or a commercial sale. Even if a project does not yield positive results, SK hynix will compensate the partner company based on the technological advancements and contributions made.

At the testing and verification stage, SK hynix will provide partner companies with access to its production lines to validate the performance and reliability of their products. Finally, at the mass-production stage, SK hynix will extend low-interest financing through its shared-growth fund and enhance its consulting program to encompass second- and third-tier suppliers as well.
