SIT set to file chargesheet in ‘Gem Granites’ Veeramani POCSO case

The Special Investigation Team (SIT) investigating the POCSO case against former Gem Granites employee Veeramani is expected to file its chargesheet in the coming week, according to police sources. The case was registered in October 2025 after a child rights activist received a video from an unknown source, allegedly showing Veeramani sexually abusing a minor girl.

Police initially closed the case due to difficulties in identifying the victim, but the Special POCSO Court ordered further investigation. Veeramani, his abettors Shanthi and Mahendra Simhan, and former employee Ganesh were subsequently arrested. The SIT, led by Additional Commissioner P.C.Thenmozhi, has been conducting a detailed probe, including recording survivor statements and collecting relevant documents and evidence.

With the remaining procedural tasks nearly complete, the SIT is set to file the chargesheet in the Special POCSO Court next week.
