‘Shiva Is God Of Poor, Ram Of Rich’: Telangana CM Revanth Reddy’s Remark Triggers Political Row

Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy has sparked a political controversy by contrasting the religious associations of Lord Ram and Lord Shiva, accusing the BJP of using Lord Ram as a political symbol. During a conclave in New Delhi, Reddy linked the BJP's electoral success in North India to their appropriation of Lord Ram. He questioned why BJP leaders frequently chant "Jai Sri Ram" but not "Har Har Mahadev."

Reddy argued that India's political and religious identities are different between North and South, distinguishing between Dravidian and Aryan traditions. He claimed that the BJP had "stolen" Lord Ram, making Him a symbol of the rich, while Lord Shiva represents the poor. Reddy said, "Shiva is the God of the poor, Ram is the God of the rich, and the BJP is a party of the rich."

This remark has led to criticism from Union minister and BJP leader Bandi Sanjay Kumar, who accused Reddy of creating political divisions between Lord Ram and Lord Shiva.
