Sean McVay apologizes for Sunday night press conference cameo

After the Rams' loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday night, coach Sean McVay's postgame press conference briefly came to a close before the majority of reporters could join him in the media room. On Monday, McVay acknowledged his brief appearance during an interview with the team. "I'm sorry that I missed you guys yesterday," McVay said, according to a team transcript.

"I had been going for a few minutes and there was some misunderstanding with some of the timing. Once a question was asked, there was enough silence for the press conference to end. It never was my intention to ever miss any of your questions. If there was any sort of misunderstanding, that was definitely not the case." McVay expressed regret for the mix-up but emphasized that he understands his role in talking to the media, whether the outcome is positive or negative.

The coach admitted that a mix-up with timing led to a brief pause in questions, adding that the emotional nature of the game contributed to the situation. While McVay's intensity is well-known, he strives to keep his emotions in check. However, it's possible that he may have said something he didn't intend to if given more time to address specific calls made during the game.
