Saif bin Zayed honours Operation Gallant Knight 3 team for humanitarian efforts

Abu Dhabi's Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of the Interior, Sheikh Saif bin Zayed Al Nahyan, recently honored the Operation Gallant Knight 3 team for their exceptional humanitarian efforts. The team, comprising young leaders from the UAE's Future Leaders Empowerment Programme, carried out relief convoys and provided care and treatment to those in need, embodying the country's values through tangible action that brings hope and support to people's lives.

The delegation visited Egypt's Al Arish city, where they participated in a field mission to gain firsthand insight into the UAE's support for the Palestinian people and its relief, medical, and logistical operations. They helped prepare and pack relief convoys, including food and health parcels, at the logistics centre before their delivery to the Gaza Strip.

The delegation also visited the Rafah Crossing, where they learned about the UAE's procedures for bringing humanitarian aid into the Gaza Strip and the efforts of UAE teams to deliver assistance and medical support.

Since the operation's launch in 2023, the UAE has provided over 130,000 tonnes of aid to the Gaza Strip, accounting for approximately 46% of the total international humanitarian assistance delivered to the Strip. This aid has been transported via 792 aircraft, more than 14,000 trucks, and 25 ships, and has reached around 192,000 people.

Additionally, six desalination plants have been constructed, pumping two million gallons of water per day, and 640,000 polio vaccines have been provided. The total cost of these humanitarian efforts has exceeded $4 billion.
