Russia Strikes Media: Ukrainian Delegation Seeks To Draw PACE’s Attention To The Situation In The Country

Russia has been targeting Ukrainian media infrastructure with deliberate, systematic attacks, according to Yevheniia Kravchuk, a member of the Ukrainian delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE). In 2022, Russia struck TV towers to prevent Ukrainians from accessing accurate information. Currently, Russia is striking various regions of Ukraine, including media infrastructure and data centers that host multiple media outlets.

This strikes not only media outlets but also archives and could hinder the public's ability to access accurate news and understand the situation in Ukraine. The Ukrainian delegation seeks to draw PACE's attention to the situation, focusing on providing air defense for major cities and the issue of occupied Oleshky. Kravchuk emphasized the need for accountability and a special tribunal to address Russia's crimes of aggression, stating that such a tribunal could go down in history.
