Rokid secures 41 per cent global augmented reality market share

Rokid has claimed the top spot in the global augmented reality and AI glasses segment, capturing a 41% share of shipments in H1 2026, according to a recent Counterpoint Research report. This milestone underscores Rokid's leadership in the burgeoning AR glasses market. Building on last year's success, when Rokid was named the leading waveguide-based AR glasses OEM by shipments, global AI glasses shipments skyrocketed by 263% year over year in H1 2026.

Although displayless smart glasses dominate current shipments, AR and AI glasses shipments surged by a staggering 449% year-over-year, indicating a surge in consumer interest. Zoro Shao, Rokid's Vice President and Global General Manager, highlighted that the company is at a pivotal point where its mature software ecosystem, robust hardware, and lightweight design cater to mainstream use cases.

Rokid's recent focus on enabling agentic AI experiences aligns with the report's conclusion that agentic AI glasses will propel the next growth phase. Rokid's glasses utilize a waveguide projection system, delivering information directly into the wearer's field of view and minimizing smartphone distractions. Capable of real-time translation, navigation, teleprompting, and other functionalities, Rokid smart glasses simplify tasks across professional and personal realms, including providing OpenAI ChatGPT, Google Gemini, DeepSeek, and Qwen integrations.

The glasses also boast a comfortable, lightweight design weighing just 49 grams and supporting a wide range of prescription lenses. Rokid's global expansion includes recent entries into European markets like Germany and France, with a developer community of 35,000 members and the launch of AIUI Studio, a browser-based development platform, at IFA Berlin 2026.
