Qatar permits drone use in designated areas, warns violators

Qatar's Interior Ministry has granted authorization for drone operations within specific zones and designated times, with a stern warning against any violations. The Ministry of Interior announced on Thursday that drone usage is now permitted in specific areas, commencing immediately, in collaboration with the Civil Aviation Authority and other pertinent agencies.

The ministry elaborated that the approved zones for drone flights can be pinpointed through the "Metrash" application, stating that flights are permissible during two distinct daily windows. The morning window spans from sunrise to 9 a.m., while the afternoon window extends from 2 p.m. until sunset. The Ministry of Interior emphasized the criticality of conforming to the specified zones and timings, and discouraged the operation of drones beyond authorized zones or for unauthorized purposes, in accordance with approved regulations and stipulations.

The ministry affirmed that legal actions would be pursued against violators in accordance with prevailing laws and statutes.
