Qatar participates in "Made in GCC 2026" Forum

Doha, Qatar is taking part in the inaugural "Made in GCC 2026" Forum and Exhibition, organized by Bahrain from October 6th to 8th. According to the Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Qatar will exhibit its national pavilion alongside various entities supporting the industrial sector such as Qatar Development Bank, Manateq, and more than 20 national manufacturers. This participation highlights the breadth of Qatar's industrial sector, aiming to showcase Qatari products and industries.

This involvement is part of Qatar's strategy to bolster industrial cooperation and integration among Gulf Cooperation Council nations. It also seeks to share expertise in advancing manufacturing and adopting cutting-edge technologies, and explore opportunities for integration in key industrial sectors like aluminum, plastics, cables, glass, pharmaceuticals, food products, and engineering industries. By integrating these sectors, member states can leverage their comparative advantages.

The participation also seeks to promote Qatari national products and boost their competitiveness in regional and global markets. It encourages the private sector to contribute more to industrial development, aligning with Qatar National Vision 2030's goals of economic diversification and sustainable growth. The pavilion will display various industrial investment opportunities, focusing on specialized industrial clusters and value-added manufacturing, while showcasing Qatari factories' production and technological capabilities, as well as the investment environment in the country.

The "Made in GCC 2026" Forum and Exhibition will serve as a platform for establishing new industrial partnerships as Qatar continues to enhance its production and export capabilities. In Q2 2026, cumulative investment in the industrial sector reached QR 248.44 billion. During the same quarter, 11 new factories commenced operations, raising the total to 28 since the first half of the year, with investments totaling QR 253 million.

The proportion of exporting factories increased from 23% in Q1 to 25% in Q2, while private-sector exports grew by 12.5%. Additionally, the number of national products expanded by 8% compared to the same period in 2025, broadening the array of products that can be promoted through the event and facilitating connections with buyers, distributors, and new markets.
