Prometeo launches Risk Intelligence

Uruguayan fintech Prometeo has expanded its account verification service to over 110 countries on five continents. The company has also introduced Risk Intelligence, a new product designed to assist businesses in assessing risk before transferring funds across international borders. Risk Intelligence evaluates the legal status and ownership of companies and individuals, as well as sanctions, regulatory signals, adverse media, and corporate registry data.

The service is currently available in Brazil, Peru, Ecuador, and Chile, with plans to extend to Argentina, Colombia, Mexico, and the United States.

In addition to Risk Intelligence, Prometeo launched Account Verification V2, which enables customers to customize verification workflows and automatically transfers requests to an alternative data source when one becomes unavailable. These new products aim to enhance Prometeo's financial infrastructure for businesses operating across various markets. The fintech company connects over 7,500 financial institutions through a single API and collaborates with SWIFT, Citi, and JPMorgan.

Ximena Alemán, Co-Founder and Co-CEO of Prometeo, emphasized the importance of these new offerings, stating that businesses operating internationally require more than a simple yes or no account check. Companies must be assured that an account is legitimate, that it belongs to the intended holder, and that the individual or company involved is suitable for engagement.

The introduction of Risk Intelligence aligns with this objective, providing businesses with a comprehensive understanding of the entities they are interacting with.
