Pochettino laments 'period of deception' if Man City breaches true

Manchester City has been found guilty of breaching financial rules, a development that former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino laments as evidence of a "period of deception" in the sport. An independent panel ruled City guilty of all but one of 115 alleged breaches of the Premier League’s financial regulations. Although City maintains they have not committed any wrongdoing, they could face sanctions, including fines, points deductions, or even relegation.

Pochettino, now manager of the US men's national team, expressed his disappointment, stating that no matter the punishment, the damage to the sport is irreparable. He lamented the loss of sporting fairness and likened the situation to a "period of deception", as many clubs followed the rules while others did not. The former Tottenham boss also suggested that Chelsea should be stripped of their 2016-17 Premier League title, alleging that the club received preferential treatment compared to Tottenham during his time at the club.
