Pixel Recorder makes it easier to access audio files

Pixel Recorder is introducing a minor update that simplifies the process of accessing audio files. In the past, users needed to open a recording and navigate to the share menu to retrieve the audio file or transcript. However, the new update enables users to find their recordings quickly with an "Access recordings in other apps" setting.

This feature allows users to view their recordings in the Files app or any other compatible apps with ease. The update is activated by default, and users will see a welcome message on the homepage announcing this new capability: "Access recordings in other apps. Manage this in Settings anytime." Pixel Recorder's "Recordings" folder on the device will showcase all audio files, whether recorded or downloaded from the cloud.

The latest version 4.2.20260823.x of the app will roll out this improvement worldwide. This update follows the previous one from August, which introduced a new app icon, including for the Weather app, though it is not yet live on the Pixel Watch.
