Pakistanis Can Apply for 2027 Fulbright Scholar Program in US

The United States Educational Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has launched applications for the 2027 Fulbright Scholar Program, providing Pakistani academics and researchers with a chance to spend up to 10 months at a U.S. college or university. Funded by the U.S. government, the program supports lectureship, postdoctoral research, or a combination of both.

Selected scholars will collaborate with U.S. academic institutions, fostering professional and research connections. Pakistani scholars will also engage with U.S. students, colleagues, and community groups, sharing insights about Pakistan's society and culture. Upon returning to Pakistan, scholars are expected to share their U.S. experiences with local audiences.

The 2027 Fulbright Scholar Program is administered by USEFP and is open to Pakistani citizens residing and working in Pakistan. Applicants must hold a Ph.D. or terminal degree in their field, with at least two years of experience. Early-career faculty and researchers (2-7 years post-Ph.D.) and senior scholars (8-15 years post-Ph.D.) are targeted groups. Applicants from all academic disciplines are welcome, except those in clinical medicine. Clinical medicine is excluded from the program.

Successful applicants must have a strong command of written and spoken English, and the program does not require a separate English proficiency test. The Fulbright grant covers airfare, research allowance, living stipend, health insurance, and funding for one accompanying dependent. USEFP also assists with the visa application process. Applicants must submit a detailed research or teaching proposal as the application's most crucial component.
