Oyo 2027: Era of stifling local government councils will be over — APC guber candidate

Senator Sharafadeen Abiodun Alli, the All Progressives Congress candidate for governor in Oyo State, has announced that the era of stifling local government councils will come to an end next year. This was revealed during a dialogue on the future of the state organized by the Oyo Rising Citizens Forum in Ibadan. Alli assured the gathering that the grievances of residents affected by the circular road construction would be resolved within a period of 48 to 72 hours.

He also emphasized that the practice of selling state assets would cease under his administration. Alli outlined his plans to boost the economy through agriculture and mining, and to establish at least one cottage industry in each local government area. He also promised to limit classroom sizes to a maximum of 30 pupils per class.

Furthermore, Alli stated that his government would not utilize any funds belonging to local governments, insisting that they would build their schools, health centers, and hire their own workers. Alli pledged to form a committee within 48 to 72 hours to address the concerns of the affected residents and to ensure that no land is seized and no state assets are sold.
