OPay wins two Consumer Awards, reaffirms nationwide trust

OPay, a leading fintech company in Nigeria, has recently won two prestigious Consumer Awards, reinforcing the strong trust Nigerian consumers place in the brand. During the 5th edition of the Consumers Value Awards (CVA), held on September 23, 2026, in Ikeja, Lagos, OPay emerged victorious in the Most Trusted Brand Award (FinTech) and the Most Consumer Friendly/Innovative FinTech Brand Award.

These awards, based on nationwide consumer voting, signify the significance of consumer trust in financial technology brands. OPay secured 70.1% of total valid votes for the Most Trusted Brand (FinTech) category and 70.2% for the Most Consumer Friendly/Innovative FinTech Brand category. Speaking on the awards, Odiase Ikponmwosa Kolawole, Head of Partnerships at OPay, emphasized that the recognition is a testament to the company's relationship with its customers and their trust in the brand.

The awards also serve as a reinforcement of OPay's commitment to prioritizing consumers and merchants in its services, with Team Director Isimeme Ayobami Owobu stating that being recognized by consumers is deeply meaningful and will continue to drive innovation for OPay. OPay, launched in Nigeria in 2018, offers a comprehensive financial services platform catering to consumers and businesses, focusing on payments, transfers, savings, and merchant services.

The latest recognition, as OPay marks eight years of operations in Nigeria, serves as a clear message from consumers: the value of a financial service lies in the daily trust people have in using it.
