October 1: Tinubu to mark Nigeria’s 66th independence in Lagos

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has concluded his working vacation and returned to Nigeria, landing in Paris, France. According to Presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the President's aircraft is anticipated to arrive at Murtala Muhammed Airport in Lagos later in the day.

Tinubu chose to fly to Lagos first to pay homage to Chief MKO Abiola, a revered figure in Nigeria's democratic journey. He plans to attend the premiere of a movie commemorating Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre in Iganmu, Lagos, on Independence Day.

Upon his arrival in Lagos, Tinubu will engage in crucial meetings with political leaders and associates over several days to prepare for the 2027 elections. The Nigerian leader previously spent a week in London before his Parisian sojourn.

During his time in Paris, Tinubu dined privately with President Emmanuel Macron and held discussions with prominent business figures, such as Vincent Bolloré, who owns various media and digital conglomerates. On Monday, he also met with Femi Otedola, Chairman of First Holdings.

DP World, a global leader in ports and logistics, expressed intentions to invest $7 billion in the development of a seaport and economic zone. President Tinubu will revert to Abuja post his political engagements in Lagos.
