NTT DATA Launches ‘Intact, intelligent action.’ to Protect Fragile Places and Advance Sustainability Commitments

Global technology services firm NTT DATA has launched a new sustainability initiative called "Intact, intelligent action." This program aims to help people and organizations turn their environmental commitments into tangible actions, focusing on some of the world's most vulnerable ecosystems. The initiative begins in Antarctica, where NTT DATA employees will join polar explorer Robert Swan and his team on the 2041 Leadership on the Edge expedition.

The 40-day voyage aboard the Magellan Explorer will take place from November 25 to December 2, 2026.

During the expedition, the NTT DATA team and over 60 other business and community leaders will focus on leadership, climate policy, sustainability, and innovation. The journey marks a significant milestone for Swan, as he led his first Antarctic expedition in 1986 and repeated the feat in 1990, becoming the first person to walk to both poles. Swan will retire from organizing this specific expedition but will continue his environmental advocacy efforts.

NTT DATA's sustainability framework revolves around the principles of Planet, Prosperity, and People. The company's initiatives include implementing more sustainable IT practices, researching solutions for business, social, and environmental challenges, sponsoring Swan's expeditions, supporting rainforest regeneration projects, and enabling smart initiatives in rainforests.

The Intact, intelligent action initiative also features a unique open-frame flag made from small, meaningful materials contributed by people worldwide. The flag will be raised on the ice during the Antarctic expedition to symbolize the commitment to preserving the fragile environment.
