Nick Sirianni on Jalen Hurts medical check: "Doctors have to do their job"

Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts became visibly frustrated when a sideline concussion evaluation kept him off the field during a promising drive that concluded with an interception by Andy Dalton during Monday night's game against the Bears. Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni, who shared the same sentiment, acknowledged the importance of player safety and health.

Sirianni told ESPN's Lisa Salters at halftime, "Obviously frustrating, but the doctors have to do their job. The guys — they got to protect these guys." Sirianni emphasized that the team had to continue running the ball from the one yard line, regardless of who was in the game. Although he expressed disappointment that Hurts was not present for that opportunity, Sirianni recognized the hard work of the medical staff in keeping players safe.

In contrast to former Giants coach Brian Daboll's emotional response last year during a prime-time game against the Eagles, Sirianni remained calm and focused on the task at hand.
