The New York Giants are set to release veteran wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., according to reports from NFL insiders Mike Garafolo and Ian Rapoport. Beckham, who made his NFL comeback this past offseason with the team where he spent his first five seasons, has yet to record a single catch during his first three games with the Giants.

The 33-year-old has failed to make use of his lone target of the year as a veteran option for the franchise. With the decision on punt returner Braxton Berrios looming, the Giants needed to make room for him on their 53-man roster. Berrios had reached his practice squad elevation limit, prompting the release of Beckham. The Giants began their 2026 season with a 28-20 victory over division-rival Dallas Cowboys, but their Week 2 loss to Los Angeles Rams saw starting quarterback Jaxson Dart suffer a knee injury, which will likely sideline him for the remainder of the regular season.

Despite their recent struggles, the Giants remain in first place with a record of 2-1 following a win over the Tennessee Titans. The team's next matchup will be against the Arizona Cardinals in a Week 4 showdown set for this coming Sunday.
