NCCE intensifies anti-corruption campaign in Ga South

The National Commission for Civic Education (NCCE) has ramped up its anti-corruption initiatives in the Ga South Municipality, focusing on educating women in the Danchira Electoral Area of Domeabra Obom Constituency. This effort, backed by German Development Cooperation, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development, the State Secretariat for Economic Affairs, and the European Union, aims to foster accountability, transparency, and respect for the rule of law among citizens.

George Obeng Osei, the Municipal Director of NCCE in Ga South, along with Mabel Sroda Ahiagba, emphasized that combating corruption is a collective effort that necessitates active involvement from every citizen. They urged everyone to embrace integrity, report corrupt activities through lawful channels, and refrain from using cultural or familial ties as excuses for concealing wrongdoing. The participants also discussed the challenges that hinder whistleblowing, primarily cultural and social practices that discourage it.

To promote integrity, the NCCE advised residents of Danchira and surrounding communities to become champions of honesty and law-abiding citizens. They were cautioned against making unsubstantiated accusations and were advised to base their reports on factual information. Additionally, the NCCE stressed the importance of educating children and young people about responsible citizenship and the dangers of corrupt practices.
