Naughty Dog confirms two more The Last of Us projects are in the works, won't show off Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet until 2027

Hulu is set to develop a TV show adaptation of the 2020 mystery comedy-drama film The Kid Detective, as reported by Variety. Writer and director Evan Morgan, known for his R-rated original film, will be an executive producer on the new project. Alex Berger, who has worked on acclaimed series such as The Mentalist, Blindspot, Quantum Leap, and CIA, will handle writing and executive production duties for the adaptation.

The logline for the upcoming series, shared by Variety, provides a clear sense of its premise: "When a missing persons case reopens the childhood murder he never solved, a washed-up former kid detective gets one last shot at proving his best days aren’t behind him." This suggests that the TV show will remain faithful to the core concept of the film, though it remains to be seen if it will closely follow the exact storyline or merely draw inspiration from it.

The original film starred Adam Brody as Abe Applebaum, a former child detective from the town of Willowbrook who gained local fame by solving small cases. Now in his 30s, Abe grapples with unresolved guilt over his inability to solve the mysterious disappearance of his friend Gracie. He yearns to regain his former glory and prove himself to those who believe his best days are behind him.

In the adaptation, Brody is not currently involved in the TV show, though there is no indication of his future involvement.
