NASCAR indefinitely suspends Chad Bryant and another crew member over Corey Heim fight

NASCAR has indefinitely suspended Chad Bryant and crew member Steven Civitarese in response to a violent altercation at Martinsville Speedway involving rising star Corey Heim. Heim, a 23XI Racing newcomer, faced significant confrontation from members of Chad Bryant Racing after a race at the track. Bryant himself was among those who physically assaulted Heim near the hot dog stand, with Heim remaining passive during the entire incident.

NASCAR has imposed severe penalties, including a $2,000 fine for Bryant and $1,000 for Civitarese, both on probation for a year. They have also been suspended from the 2027 ValleyStar Credit Union 300 at Martinsville. Additionally, Bryant must undergo mandatory anger management training through a NASCAR-approved program if he hopes to be reinstated.

Ryden Lapcevich, brother of the involved Treyten Lapcevich, received a $500 fine and a one-year probation. The fight at the end of the ValleyStar Credit Union 300 resulted in fines for Brad Houseright, Chad Burrow, and their respective crews, but no suspensions. Seven individuals were penalized in total, with two facing suspensions.

NASCAR president Denny Hamlin strongly condemned the actions of the CBR team members, labeling them as "f****** cowards" for ambushing Heim, isolated from his team, and repeatedly punching him without resistance.
