NADRA Clarifies Biometric Verification Rules for First-Time CNIC Applicants

The National Database and Registration Authority (NADRA) has provided clarification regarding the biometric verification process for individuals applying for their first Computerized National Identity Card (CNIC) when their parents are not present to complete the necessary verification. In a video on NADRA's YouTube channel, a spokesperson addressed a citizen's inquiry about who can perform the biometric verification in such situations.

According to the spokesperson, NADRA typically prefers that at least one parent accompanies the applicant to complete the biometric verification. However, if the parents are unavailable or have passed away, the verification process can still proceed. In these cases, a sibling listed in the applicant's NADRA family tree can complete the verification.

If both siblings are registered on the same B-Form (Child Registration Certificate), one can accompany the applicant to verify their application. Additionally, NADRA clarified that individuals who already possess a B-Form can apply for their first-time CNIC online through the PakID mobile application. The authority emphasized the importance of ensuring that family tree and B-Form details are accurate and up-to-date in NADRA records prior to applying for a CNIC.
