N.S. minor hockey player pleads guilty to sexual assaulting teammate

In Truro, Nova Scotia, one of two minor hockey players accused of sexually assaulting a teammate has pleaded guilty. The 13-year-old victim was a rookie on an under-15 hockey team in Colchester County, northeast of Halifax when the assault occurred. According to prosecutors, the crime took place during a sleepover on October 3, 2025, involving most of the team.

Two 14-year-old players are accused of pinning the victim to a bed, removing his clothing, and using a mini hockey stick during the assault, which lasted between 15 to 20 seconds. The victim reportedly told the attackers to stop, and they complied when he began to cry. A second player, who also pleaded not guilty in May, is set to go to trial in February.
