London officer suspended after video showing alcohol in police vehicle

A police officer in London, Ontario has been suspended following the release of a video that shows alcohol visible inside an unmarked police vehicle. The force's police chief, Chief Thai Truong, has stated that the incident, which occurred on June 24 during a police funeral, raises concerns and has prompted a criminal investigation.

The video also shows a service weapon being stored in a manner that Truong deems problematic. Police will be looking into how the firearm was handled and stored. Chief Truong added that a senior officer has been suspended with pay, and the overall behavior of those involved will be reviewed once the criminal probe is complete.
