JUST IN: Tinubu arrives Lagos after France working vacation

President Bola Tinubu has returned to Lagos following a working vacation in France. The Nigerian leader touched down at Murtala Muhammed International Airport in Ikeja on Tuesday, where he was greeted by Lagos State Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu and other notable figures. The arrival was confirmed by Tinubu's Special Assistant on Social Media, Olusegun Dada, who tweeted, "Landing. Welcome home Mr President!"

Tinubu had been in France for a week, first in London and then Paris, before embarking on his journey back home. According to a statement from the President’s Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, Tinubu departed Paris for Lagos on Tuesday. His return to Nigeria is anticipated to coincide with strategic meetings with political leaders and associates, aimed at preparations for the upcoming 2027 elections.

While in Lagos, President Tinubu intends to pay tribute to the late Chief MKO Abiola, a key figure in Nigeria’s democratic movement and the winner of the 1993 presidential election. On October 1, Independence Day, Tinubu is scheduled to attend the movie premiere dedicated to Abiola at the Wole Soyinka National Theatre, Iganmu, Lagos.
