Jeonbuk National University offers AI training for Lotte Energy Materials employees

Jeonbuk National University is offering tailored artificial intelligence (AI) training to employees at Lotte Energy Materials, as part of the company's efforts to drive digital transformation and enhance its workforce's AI skills. The university announced on Monday that its Regional Innovation System and Education (RISE) Project Group has been delivering a four-week AI training program for staff at the company's facility in Iksan, North Jeolla Province, from September 11 to October 13. The program aims to enhance employees' proficiency in utilizing AI within their roles.

Lotte Energy Materials is a significant employer in the region, serving as a subsidiary of the Lotte Group. The company specializes in manufacturing copper foil, a crucial component used in rechargeable batteries. Jang Tae-il, the director of Jeonbuk National University's RISE Project Group, emphasized the significance of this collaboration, stating, "This training exemplifies the successful partnership between regional government, industry, and academia, with the university's expertise closely aligned with the needs of the local community and industry."

Building upon their ongoing collaboration with Lotte Energy Materials, the university plans to develop specific initiatives aimed at fostering stronger industry-academia partnerships.
