Jaguars defender needs more 'attention,' says NFL analyst

The Jacksonville Jaguars' defensive line, led by defensive tackle DaVon Hamilton, continues to be a formidable force. Last season, the team allowed the fewest rushing yards in the NFL. This season, through three games, they rank eighth in rushing yards allowed and seventh in yards per rush.

Analyst Pete Prisco of CBS Sports notes that the Jaguars haven't allowed a running back to rush for over 75 yards in their last 20 games. Prisco believes it's time for Hamilton to receive more recognition for his outstanding performance inside the defensive line.

Hamilton plays a crucial role in the Jaguars' defensive strategy, ranking third among all defensive tackles in PFF's run-stop rate metric. He is also tied for third in tackles in the run game. Head coach Liam Coen has also acknowledged Hamilton's growing influence in the passing game, with the defensive tackle recording three pressures and a sack in the team's first three games.

Hamilton's impact extends beyond the stat sheet. His ability to take on blocks, clog running lanes, and occupy space makes it challenging for opponents to run the ball between the tackles. As Prisco stated, it's time for Hamilton to get the attention he deserves for his exceptional skills on the field.
