Jackie Chan alive as another death hoax goes viral

Jackie Chan, the renowned martial arts star, has once again been falsely declared dead on social media platforms. Despite being 72 years old, the actor's recent appearance in Singapore has debunked the latest death rumor. A black-and-white photograph depicting Chan with the dates "1954–2026" was widely shared online, causing concern among his fans.

The latest hoax was allegedly fueled by a memorial-style image designed to look like an obituary, which, when paired with an ill-conceived tribute, quickly gained millions of views on X. This post was then picked up by international media outlets, further spreading the false claim. Chan was publicly active earlier this year, including a visit to Pei Chun Public School in Singapore on July 7, where he interacted with around 900 students and teachers.

During the event, he engaged in activities like wushu, lion and dragon dances, and shared personal stories about his career and the importance of having dreams. His participation in the event provides recent, documented evidence that the actor is alive and active. False death rumors have been circulating about Chan for over a decade, with the most recent one in 2025 also being debunked by Africa Check.

Despite these persistent false claims, Chan remains a familiar and recognizable figure in the international action cinema scene, having starred in numerous iconic films such as "Drunken Master," "Police Story," "Rush Hour," and "Kung Fu Panda."
