Huawei Watch GT 7 Series Goes Official In Malaysia

Last week, Huawei introduced the Watch GT 7 series to Malaysia, fulfilling its earlier announcement. The new wearable devices carry over the familiar design from last year's Watch GT 6 series, with a few enhancements. One such upgrade is the new EasyCross Strap, featuring a tuck-under design for a secure fit. Among the most notable additions is the Diabetes Risk Study, which was initially introduced with the Watch Fit 5 Pro.

This feature utilizes pulse-wave signals gathered by the watch's PPG sensor, along with details like the user's age, gender, height, and weight, to estimate their potential diabetes risk. However, it's important to note that this study requires users to wear the device for a continuous period of three to 14 days.

Other key highlights of the Watch GT 7 series include a new Physical Readiness Score. This feature assesses various aspects such as recovery, heart rate variability, sleep, activity, and emotional wellbeing. Additionally, Huawei has improved the AI-XDR Positioning system for more accurate route tracking during outdoor activities.

The updated system can maintain tracking continuity even in areas with limited GPS signals, thanks to the Watch GT 7's ability to estimate and restore sections without coverage (Smart Route Reconstruction).

The vanilla version of the Watch GT 7 series is available in 41mm and 46mm sizes. The smaller model is offered in Pink, Blue, White, and Grey, while the larger variant comes in Yellow, Blue, and Black. Both models feature an AMOLED display with a resolution of 466 x 466 pixels and peak brightness of 3,000 nits. The screen size varies, with the smaller model sporting a 1.32-inch panel and the larger one having a 1.47-inch screen.

The watch also comes with IP69 and 5 ATM ratings for water and dust resistance. The internal sensors can measure heart rate and skin temperature. The Watch GT 7 series boasts health features such as the Diabetes Risk Study and the Physical Readiness Score, along with morning briefings, Emotional Wellbeing 2.0, sleep and women's health tracking, and other tools accessible through the Huawei Health app.
