HONOR Magic9 Series Officially Debuts In China With ARRI Imaging System

The HONOR Magic9 series has made its official debut in China, marking the arrival of three new flagship smartphones - the base Magic9, the Magic9 Pro Max, and the Magic9 Super Edition. Running on Android 17 through HONOR's custom MagicOS 11, the devices offer a sleek, glass-like interface and AI-driven tools.

Both the standard Magic9 and the Pro Max model emphasize cinematography capabilities, while the Super Edition prioritizes performance and battery life. The first two models are equipped with imaging systems developed in collaboration with ARRI, a renowned film equipment manufacturer. These systems support ARRI's LogC3 format, enabling flexible color grading, as well as 87 ARRI Looks and ARRI Movie Live, which allows for a 2.39:1 cinematic widescreen format that records for three seconds after the shutter is released.

The Magic9 Pro Max, as the top-tier model, showcases premium features such as a metal body, a 6.8-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1,320 x 2,868 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate, and a peak brightness of 10,000 nits. Dubbed the "Black Diamond screen," this display also boasts a 5,600-layer silicon nitride coating for enhanced scratch resistance and durability. The phone is rated IP68, IP69, and IP69K for water and dust resistance.

Under the hood, the Magic9 Pro Max is powered by the latest Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 SoC, paired with up to 16GB of RAM and a maximum of 1TB of storage. To keep the device running, it features an 8,800mAh battery that supports both 100W wired and 80W wireless charging.
