Honor Magic9 Pro Max Arrives With 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 and 500mm Lens

Honor has introduced its latest flagship device, the Magic9 Pro Max, for late 2026. The flagship boasts the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset alongside dual 200MP cameras and an expansive 8,800mAh silicon-carbon battery. In collaboration with German camera manufacturer ARRI, the phone emphasizes professional video features.

The Magic9 Pro Max flaunts a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display, offering a resolution of 1320 × 2868 pixels and a variable refresh rate ranging from 1Hz to 120Hz. The display achieves peak brightness of 2,000 nits globally and up to 10,000 nits locally during HDR video playback. An updated NanoCrystal Shield safeguards the screen, incorporating additional silicon nitride layers and an anti-reflective coating. It is available in Shadow Black, Glacier Silver, and Moss Green colors with an IP69K rating for dust and water resistance.

The phone runs on MagicOS 11, built on Android 17, and can be configured with up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. Its camera setup includes a 200MP main camera with a 23mm-equivalent lens, a 200MP periscope telephoto camera with an 85mm-equivalent focal length and 3.7x optical zoom, and a 50MP ultrawide lens with a 12mm-equivalent focal length.

Both the main and telephoto cameras feature CIPA 8.0 gimbal-level image stabilization and utilize ARRI Image Science, enabling ARRI color profiles and cinematic filters. These filters allow users to switch color grading with a single tap, replicating the appearance of ARRI cinema cameras. The device also supports ARRI LogC3 Curve recording, full 10-bit color depth, and ARRI Wide Gamut 3.

An optional teleconverter kit featuring a 500mm lens attachment is available, along with a handheld SmallRig camera cage for mounting additional accessories like grips, LED lights, and microphones. The device packs an 8,800mAh silicon-carbon battery, supporting 100W wired and 80W wireless charging. Pricing in China commences at approximately $968 for the 12GB RAM and 256GB storage variant, while the top-tier 16GB RAM and 1TB storage model is priced at around $1,266. Honor has yet to announce international pricing or availability.
