Group donates to orphanage homes, gets new leader

The Unique Fellows All Nations Forum, a humanitarian group based in Awka, has pledged to expand its support for vulnerable residents in Anambra State. During a pre-installation event for the incoming mayor, Gabriel Muoneke, Chairman Kingsley Ezeibe revealed that the forum had disbursed N10 million to vulnerable residents between 2023 and 2026 as part of its socioeconomic initiatives.

Ezeibe emphasized that the organization's primary focus is on enhancing the lives of widows, elderly citizens, orphans, individuals with disabilities, inmates, petty traders, artisans, technicians, and other marginalized groups.

Muoneke, who was elected unopposed in February as the forum's seventh Mayor, pledged to introduce people-oriented programs that would benefit the residents of Awka and other communities. The incoming mayor mentioned that he would build upon the forum's existing humanitarian efforts and seek greater impact through community-focused initiatives.

On Sunday, the Unique Fellows All Nations Forum donated food items and other relief supplies to Shawn Christabel Orphanage Home in Awka. The donated items, which included tubers of yams, cartons of noodles, bags of rice, and other edibles, were given to support the orphans and vulnerable children. Muoneke stated that the organization's gesture is part of their line of activities for the installation of the seventh Mayor and other executive members who were elected to lead the body for three years.

Ezeibe expressed gratitude to the members of the organization who contributed to the exercise and encouraged other affluent individuals to continue helping the needy. Lady Nnajiofor Ifenyiwa, the Manager of Shawn Christabel Orphanage Home, commended the group for their kind gesture and assured them that they would convey the support to the management team and the orphans at the home.
