Gia Lai Province promotes investment in Australia

Gia Lai Province is ramping up efforts to attract investment from Australia, showcasing opportunities in high-tech agriculture, renewable energy, logistics, tourism, and smart urban development. A delegation from the province, headed by Party Committee Secretary Thai Dai Ngoc, is in Australia to promote investment, trade, and tourism while forging ties with local businesses and investors.

The delegation convened a conference in Sydney on September 28, 2023, to showcase Gia Lai's potential and advantages, particularly in high-tech agriculture, processing and manufacturing, renewable energy, digital technology, logistics, tourism, and smart urban development. Provincial Party Committee Secretary Thai Dai Ngoc emphasized the province's receptiveness to projects with suitable technology, effective management, linkages with domestic enterprises, and long-term value creation.

Following the signing of memorandums of understanding and cooperation agreements, Thai Dai Ngoc urged provincial agencies to transform discussions into tangible actions, provide relevant documents and data, and clearly define contact points, content, and response deadlines. Vietnamese Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huu Que highlighted that the Vietnam-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership is fostering a conducive environment for businesses from both nations to expand cooperation.

To date, Gia Lai has exported over US$30.5 million to Australia in the first eight months of 2023. The province currently hosts eight investment projects by Australian enterprises, collectively boasting a registered capital of approximately US$27 million. At the investment promotion conference, Gia Lai Province spotlighted five sectors of interest to Australian investors: processing and manufacturing, high-tech agriculture integrated with deep processing, inter-regional logistics, eco-tourism and resort/cultural tourism, and modern, smart urban development.
