Freshworks Co-Founder Girish Mathrubootham turns film producer for Tamil sports drama 'Sarpatta Parambarai 2'

Girish Mathrubootham, co-founder of Freshworks and former CEO, has transitioned into the realm of Tamil cinema as a co-producer for the sequel to Sarpatta Parambarai, titled Sarpatta Parambarai Round 2. This development came to light following director Pa Ranjith's announcement on social media, which revealed the inception of filming for the upcoming project.

Mathrubootham, a native of Tiruchirappalli, has been deeply involved in the IT industry for several years, beginning his career at local electronics and IT companies before transitioning into software development. After teaching himself Java, he gained expertise at major firms like HCL, eForce, and Zoho. In 2016, Mathrubootham co-founded Freshworks, which later achieved significant success by listing on NASDAQ as India's first SaaS unicorn to go public on an American stock exchange.

Recognized for his passion for Tamil cinema, Mathrubootham has previously collaborated as an associate producer for Yogi Babu's critically acclaimed movie Mandela. His latest venture aligns with his increasing personal investments in his hometown, as evidenced by the acquisition of a luxurious residential property in Chennai, valued at Rs 211 Cr.
