Fahadh Faasil reveals Vijay was the first to predict he would become an actor

Malayalam actor Fahadh Faasil recounted a memorable moment from his early career when Tamil actor Vijay was the first to predict he would become an actor. The encounter occurred when Fahadh was just 12 or 13 years old, on the sets of Kadhalukku Mariyadhai directed by Fahadh's father, Fazil. Speaking to veteran filmmaker K.S. Ravikumar on Behindwoods TV, Fahadh recalled their conversations mostly revolving around films. Vijay had even shared his plans for Kushi, a film Vijay was preparing to work on at the time.

Fahadh admitted that at the time, he never imagined Vijay would eventually become involved in politics and serve as Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu. The actor's own journey into acting was not without challenges. His 2002 debut, Kaiyethum Doorath, directed by his father, was a commercial failure. This setback deeply affected Fahadh, causing him to temporarily step away from the film industry and pursue higher education in the US.

Although initially considering engineering, Fahadh eventually studied philosophy and returned to India, eventually rebuilding his career with critically acclaimed performances in films like Maheshinte Prathikaaram, Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum, Kumbalangi Nights, Joji, Malik, and Aavesham. He is currently preparing for the release of his first Telugu film, Don't Trouble The Trouble, a fantasy drama directed by S.S. Rajamouli and scheduled for release on October 2.
