EliseAI, an artificial intelligence firm automating back-office tasks for landlords and healthcare systems, recently raised $350 million in a $4 billion valuation round. This new funding, led by a16z and Bessemer Venture Partners, nearly doubled the company's valuation from just over a year ago. The round also saw participation from Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan and existing investors Sapphire Ventures and Navitas Capital.

EliseAI's CEO and co-founder, Minna Song, explained that the growth in valuation was a result of the company's execution, expanded industries (housing and healthcare), increased product offerings, and market penetration. The new financing will be used for product development and to expand EliseAI's teams across North America. The company plans to open a second engineering hub in San Francisco, joining its existing headquarters in New York.

EliseAI's technology targets industries that have been resistant to automation, with a focus on housing and healthcare administration. The CEO believes these sectors have significant problems that AI can help solve, citing the high costs and operational inefficiencies in property management and the affordability challenges in healthcare.
