Eagles sign Kenny Moore II to roster after defensive collapse in Chicago

The Philadelphia Eagles have added defensive back Kenny Moore II to their active roster, less than a week after placing him on the practice squad. Moore, 31, had spent the first nine seasons of his career with the Indianapolis Colts before joining Philadelphia on September 23. He had practiced with the team last week but was not elevated for Monday night's 27-7 loss to the Chicago Bears.

This promotion puts him in a position to potentially make his Philadelphia debut against the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday. The move comes at a crucial time for Vic Fangio's defense, as the Eagles fell to 2-1 after allowing veteran Case Keenum to perform well in the game against the Bears. Moore, a former Pro Bowl selection, brings considerable experience to the secondary, having appeared in 132 regular-season games with 649 tackles, 21 interceptions, 11.5 sacks, and five defensive touchdowns.

With the Eagles facing a need for dependable playmakers in the secondary, Moore's addition signals the team's belief that he can contribute sooner rather than later. While his promotion does not guarantee an immediate starting role, it sends a clear message that the Eagles are open to evaluating him at multiple spots on the defense.
