'Don't mess with us': Netanyahu warns enemies may attack Israel ahead of election

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has warned that Israel's enemies may attempt to attack the country ahead of the upcoming Knesset elections in October. During a statement from Tel Nof Air Force Base, Netanyahu emphasized that there are indications that his adversaries will seek to launch an attack on Israel during the election period.

He issued a stern warning, saying, "Don't mess with us. Our long arm will reach you anywhere, and at any time." The statement did not specify which adversaries Netanyahu intended to refer to.

Following Netanyahu's announcement, Yashar party leader Gadi Eisenkot took to X/Twitter to question the validity of the security threat. Eisenkot stated that if the warning regarding Israel's security concerns is indeed accurate, it necessitates an immediate update from opposition leader Yair Lapid. Eisenkot insisted that it is crucial to verify whether the threat is genuine or merely a political tactic aimed at undermining the election process.

He stressed, "If the security warnings conveyed by Netanyahu are correct, it requires an immediate update from the opposition leader, Yair Lapid, to ascertain whether it is a genuine threat or a political maneuver intended to harm the election system."
