Doctor Who's iconic TARDIS set has been dismantled, as the long-running series enters a prolonged hiatus. The TARDIS, originally built for the show's 60th anniversary, served as a frequent backdrop for the Doctor's key scenes. Despite its frequent appearance, the set's prolonged retention after the show's final season had fans anticipating its reuse for resolving cliffhangers.

However, the BBC has no current plans to utilize it again. The decision to demolish the set came as fans expressed disappointment, with Bad Wolf confirming the event via an Instagram post. The BBC, currently seeking a fresh production partner, aims to relaunch Doctor Who by 2028 or 2029. The TARDIS interior has been integral to the series, but its removal marks another sign of the show's significant regeneration.
