Dennis Haskins, who played the hapless principal on ‘Saved by the Bell,’ dies at 75

Dennis Haskins, who portrayed Principal Richard Belding in the popular 1980s sitcom Saved by the Bell, has passed away at the age of 75. His agent, Jay Schachter, announced the news to Variety, describing it as "a tragic loss." Schachter highlighted Haskins' kindness and his dedication to his fans, expressing his personal grief over losing the beloved actor and friend.

Haskins continued to play Mr. Belding in Saved by the Bell: The New Class, a spin-off that aired from 1993 to 2000. His acting history also includes roles in Magnum, P.I., The Twilight Zone, and How I Met Your Mother. Fellow Saved by the Bell cast member Lark Voorhies conveyed her sorrow on Instagram, noting their long friendship and Haskins' gentle spirit.

She expressed that his warmth and laughter would be deeply missed. Mario Lopez, another Saved by the Bell alum, mourned Haskins on his radio show, sharing a photo of Lopez and Haskins together.
