A Colorado rancher spent $50,000 fighting oil drilling on his 7,000-acre property after companies used his land to reach neighbouring mineral reserves. Nearly a decade later, Weld County commissioners approved a wind project on part of his ranch. The rancher says the project could provide income to help his daughters continue the family’s cattle business.
