Burjeel Hospital Abu Dhabi is advancing cardiovascular care through the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in its cardiovascular services. The introduction of the GCC's first AI-powered cardiac catheterisation laboratory represents a significant step forward in the hospital's approach to heart disease detection, assessment, and treatment.

The AI technology enhances the capabilities of clinicians by providing additional information and improving visualisation during procedures, but it does not replace clinical judgment. Instead, it supports cardiologists in making informed decisions based on the patient's condition, clinical evidence, and experience. The laboratory supports a range of catheter-based cardiac procedures, including coronary angiography, angioplasty, and stenting.

By providing clearer visualisation of blood vessels and areas requiring intervention, the AI technology helps optimise cardiac images during procedures. The hospital's cardiology service also encompasses a wide range of services, from non-invasive cardiology and cardiac diagnostics to invasive and interventional cardiology, electrophysiology, heart rhythm management, heart failure, and longer-term cardiovascular management.
