Bell signs agreement with Cisco to collaborate on sovereign AI infrastructure

MONTREAL - Canadian telecommunications company Bell Canada and U.S. technology giant Cisco have announced a collaboration to provide sovereign AI infrastructure for Canadian customers. The partnership involves Cisco's AI, networking, security and infrastructure technologies working together to help Canadian organizations deploy, secure and manage AI infrastructure in Canada.

The collaboration also aims to give customers more flexibility in accessing and scaling sovereign AI capacity. This agreement builds upon Bell's recent deals with Cohere for operating large language models through Bell AI Fabric and its plan to quadruple the size of its data centre project in Saskatchewan.
